Bartram National Heritage Trail | Georgia Hikes The 33.2-mile Georgia section of this long trail goes through a variety of habitat types, from high mountain ridges to the banks of the National Wild and Scenic Chattooga River. The Bartram Trail enters Georgia from North Carolina near Commissioner s Rock and follows the ridge crest that forms the Tennessee Valley Divide down to Warwoman Dell. It crosses the second highest mountain in the state, Rabun Bald, at 4, 696 feet. From there it drops down to the Chattooga River and joins the Chattooga River Trail for 8.1 miles. You pass through one gap and around one ridge crest to the next until you reach the lower elevations at Martin Creek Falls and end this first segment at Warwoman Road and Warwoman Dell Day-Use Area.
